We've loved having the windows open all day, sleeping with the bedroom windows open, cool mornings, and perfect afternoons. However, while the rest of the country starts to thaw out and welcome spring, we start to fry. Saturday it was awfully warm out. Ken and I, with some help from some of our boys, worked outside quite a bit to finish getting our garden in. (Yes, it's very late for here, but what can I say...we bought plants, though, so we're not waiting for many seeds to come up.) We've noticed the sun was really strong and we even got a little sunburn in a short amount of time. I started out with a sweat jacket on and quickly took it off and I was still pretty warm. Sunday it was nice in the morning but by the afternoon we were all realizing it was just plain hot. We looked on tv and found out it was 95! Where did that come from, 2 days ago I was in a black turtleneck and long pants and was chilled! So we closed the windows and turned on the air conditioning. It wasn't cool enough last night to open the windows again, either. I'm very sad! Every year about this time we realize that summer is going to come and it is going to be awfully hot. We do get used to it, but there's a moment of terror when we start to remember getting into 140 degree cars and using hot pads to drive. It hits us that we don't have a pool, that no type of clothing really keeps us cool enough, and that owning a car darker than stark white is a very, very bad idea. And no more using the oven unless absolutely necessary until Thanksgiving because it heats up the house. We still love it and don't want to live anywhere else. But for the life of me I don't know why 2 people from the green, rolling hills of Pennsylvania would love this!

I always try to not turn the air on till May 1st. But....it never happens. I had to turn our air on yesterday too! Loving the warm sun though!
Boy does that post make me homesick (for my true home)! It's going to get to the 80s this week and we are jumping for joy. The snow on the mountains here it UT are just starting to melt at the base. We will be visiting there though the week of May 11 and very much look forward to cooking like lobsters :)
Oh my gosh, Cyndi. I'm not a huge Jon Schmidt fan like you. I go to his free concerts here in the summer. (You should come up for Orem Summerfest.)
But I completely enjoyed this. I've since passed it along to a few friends.
SA-WEET!
